This California Utility Will Soon Hit Its Net Metering Cap

San Diego Gas & Electric will soon hit its cap on the number of rooftop solar systems that can make money for sending electricity back to the grid, PV Tech reports. This means SDG&E will likely be the first utility in California to use the state's new net metering policies.

Utility Rate Changes Mean Cloudy Future For Montana Solar Power

Montana regulators last week voted to temporarily suspend the price the utility NorthWestern must pay for solar energy generated by small companies, Montana Public Radio reports. This means companies will have to negotiate with NorthWestern on what to charge for their solar supplies on a case-by-case basis until a new rate is determined.
