German officials are creating an incentive program to encourage residents to buy electric cars. The German government may provide up to $5,000 to prospective car owners per green car and require the auto industry help pay for these benefits, according to a draft proposal reviewed by Reuters.

These Private Equity Firms Are Buying Up Clean Energy Assets in Europe

Amid a scale back of financial support for renewable energy projects in Spain, Greece and other European countries, some private equity firms are quietly buying up these troubled assets.

"Private equity funds have a big advantage in the renewables space, we can be much more creative with structuring and de-risking," Erich Becker from the firm Zouk Capital said to Bloomberg News.
