These Private Equity Firms Are Buying Up Clean Energy Assets in Europe

Amid a scale back of financial support for renewable energy projects in Spain, Greece and other European countries, some private equity firms are quietly buying up these troubled assets.

"Private equity funds have a big advantage in the renewables space, we can be much more creative with structuring and de-risking," Erich Becker from the firm Zouk Capital said to Bloomberg News.

17 U.S. Governors Make Renewable Energy, Climate Pledge

A bipartisan coalition of governors from 17 states recently pledged to expand renewable energy, improve energy efficiency and cut transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions.

The governors are from California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Washington.
