NextEra Hits 10,000MW in Installed Wind Projects

US utility NextEra Energy has completed installation of a 400 megawatts wind farm in Colorado.

With the commissioning of the Limon project, the company has now erected 10,000 megawatts of turbines, which should all be supplying the grid by the end of 2012.

Facilities are spread over 29 states and four Canadian provinces.

The energy supplier has now invested more than $16 billion into wind power.
