Eleanor Roosevelt came to our household on May 3, 2015 at 10 weeks old from the good folks at Mid Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue. She was born on Presidents Day, Feb. 22, because her mom, the remarkable and mysterious Frenchy, was already pregnant when she arrived at the rescue group. Hence Eleanor's executive branch name. Ellie, as she is now known, was the only female in a litter of 10, which explains her bare knuckled ways at the dog park. When she is not chewing on some other dog's scruff or homing in on neighborhood varmints, she is sleeping on a couch, trying to find something she can surreptitiously chew to bits, doing doggie parkour off the furniture or licking someone's face.
