Jeff Tollefson

Jeff Tollefson, recipient of an Alicia Paterson Foundation grant to cover Brazilians’ battle over the Amazon, is filing dispatches for InsideClimate News. He is on a year’s leave from his position as U.S. correspondent for Nature magazine in New York City, where he covers international energy, climate and environmental issues. Previously he reported on Capitol Hill for Congressional Quarterly from 2005 to 2007. Tollefson was also an MIT Knight Science Journalism fellow from 2004 to 2005. Prior to the Knight fellowship, he covered science and environmental issues for daily newspapers in the West, including the Casper Star-Tribune, Billings Gazette and the Santa Fe New Mexican. Originally from Wyoming, he is fluent in Portuguese and French.
