Jennifer Ugwa

Fellow

Jennifer Ugwa is a first-year graduate student focused on investigative and narrative storytelling at the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated with a BA in Journalism from Nigeria, where she reported extensively on environmental issues, health, business, and women in conflict for regional and international platforms. As a reporter for Oakland North Richmond Confidential, the UC Berkeley journalism school publications, she concentrated on covering transportation and how sector policies affect residents. Under the Investigative Reporting Project, she hopes to report on the environmental and climatic impacts of waste tire recycling. Jennifer is passionate about topics that intersect environmental issues and social justice. Currently, she is exploring the effects of AI on the environment.
