Based in the heart of Brooklyn, NY students will be immersed in learning environmental journalism fundamentals with a heavy emphasis in field reporting on environmental justice, climate change and renewable energy.
Professional reporters and award-winning instructors will teach best practices in sourcing, interviewing, research and writing techniques while research scientists and expert guest speakers will school students in environmental sciences, climate change and humans' impact in the urban environment. Students will spend the afternoons reporting and producing an original piece of journalism they will complete by the end of the Institute.
